The YFL Cheerleading Rules are under review and further development. The updates will posted here upon approval by the Cheer Coordinator and League Commissioner.

Game Day Requirements

  1. All YFL cheerleaders are required to cheer for the entire game (4 quarters)
  2. All YFL cheerleaders are required to cheer throughout the 10-game season (Regular Season and Play-Off games)
  3. YFL cheerleaders are required to cheer two games per Saturday.  This only applies if you have 15 or less cheerleaders.  For example, you could cheer at the Freshman and Sophomore game one week and the next week cheer at the JV and Varsity games.  Go back and fourth throughout the season so that no division feels left out.  Once the schedule is provided, please provide the cheer coordinator with a schedule of the games your team plans to cheer at each week.
  4. Larger Squads (16 or more), are expected to be divided (Ex. Younger (5-8) older (9-12.  Example younger ones cheer at Freshman and Sophomore games.  Older ones cheer at JV and Varsity games.
  5. All YFL cheerleaders are required to be in uniform if performing (uniform means shell, skirt, socks, and tennis shoes)
  6. Water Breaks should be a maximum of 5 minutes or less and all cheerleaders should not go at one time unless it is half-time.
  7. Bathroom Breaks should be taken at half-time.  Bathroom Breaks are not a team event all cheerleaders should not go at once if the game is going on.
  8. All YFL cheerleaders are required to perform at half-time (Ex. Cheers and Chants) of each game.
  9. The home team is required to go meet the visiting team and do a friendly cheer to their crowd and vice versa.  (Please note this is not time to play cheerleader games that you learn at camp).

If you are in violation of the above requirements your team will be charged a $25 fine due by the following Saturday to the Cheer Coordinator or the YFL Commissioner.  If the fine is not paid in full you will continue to incur fees ($25 each Saturday) until the fine is paid.

If you do not pay your fines by the Cheer Competition your squad will perform in the cheer competition but will not be allowed to compete for any prizes.
